Ron Paul for President The Revolution Sweeps Across America

August 182009

Ron Paul Draws Large Enthusiastic Crowds in San Diego

With more than one million votes (five times more than Rudy Giuliani), and nearly $5 million left over from a remarkable $35 million fund-raising campaign, Ron Paul can hardly be ignored by GOP leaders.

Ron Paul is leading a revolution in defense of the United States Constitution with an exemplary, unparalleled voting record in Congress supporting;

1) Smaller Government: eliminate the IRS and income taxes
2) Abolish the Federal Reserve: stop printing money and tinkering with interest rates
3) Liberty & Justice: the fundamental liberties guaranteed all Americans in The Constitution
4) Bring the Troops Home: focus on national defense rather than policing the world

His recent book, The Revolution: A Manifesto immediately jumped to #1 on Amazon.com sales and also recently topped The New York Times Best Seller list, the preeminent list of best-selling books in the United States.

Ron Paul’s admirers are looking for truth, to go back to the basics, and to go back to The Constitution.

While other candidates such as Mitt Romney, Mike Huckabee, Rudy Giuliani, and John Edwards have dropped out of the 2008 election race, Ron Paul continues on, defending The Constitution, as Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, and John McCain bicker over their personal lives and typical politics.

Presidents & Congress Ignoring the Constitution – Judge Napolitano

August 62009

Is the government we have today what the founders had in mind?

Everyone in government takes an oath to uphold the Constitution, but few do so. Beginning with John Adams, and proceeding to Abraham Lincoln, Woodrow Wilson, and George W. Bush, congress has enacted and the President has signed laws that have criminalized political speech, suspended Habeas Corpus, compelled support for war, forbade the freedom of contract, allowed the government to spy on Americans without a search warrant, and use tax payer dollars to shore up failing private banks.

All of this legislation is so obviously in conflict with the plain words of the Constitution, that one wonders how Congress gets away with it.

The truth is, that the Constitution grants Congress 17 specific delegated powers, and commands in the 9th and 10th Amendments, that the powers not articulated and thus not delegated by the Constitution to the Congress, must be reserved to the states and the people. What’s more, Congress can only use it’s delegated powers to legislate for what we call the general welfare. Meaning it cannot spend tax dollars on individuals or selected groups, but only for all of us. And, Congress cannot deny the equal protection of the laws, thus, it must treat similarly situated entities in a similar manner.

It is clear that the framers wrote a constitution, as a result of which, contracts would be enforced, risk would be real, choices would be free and have consequences, and private property would be sacrosanct.

The $700 billion dollar bailout of large banks that Congress recently enacted runs afoul of virtually all these constitutional principles.

Do the people we send to the federal government, recognize any limits on Congress’ power to legislate?

Here’s my opinion. The don’t recognize limits, on Congress’ power to legislate. The air you breathe, the water you drink, the size of your toilet tank, the water pressure in your shower, the subjects your children study in school, the manner in which your physician treats you when you are ill, the speed you drive your car, what you can drink before you get in the car, all of these are regulated by the Congress.

Congress has written over 4,000 criminal laws, that make up over one million pages of text. And, the law presumes that we understand all of it.

Does the Congress recognize any limits on it’s ability to legislate whatever it wants? Yes, whatever it can get away with.

Rick Reyes’s full testimony before Congress

August 32009

Rick Reye’s full testimony before Congress on April 23, 2009.

Thanks to your efforts, we were able to bring Rick Reyes, a veteran of both Iraq and Afghanistan, to Congress’s attention. A former Corporal in the US Marines, Reyes was powerful and truthful as he told Senator John Kerry and the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, “I urge you on behalf of truth and patriotism to consider carefully and rethink Afghanistan. More troops, more occupation is not the answer.”

Reyes’s testimony raises critical concerns that Congress must address before approving a massive supplemental war funding bill in the next few weeks. Let’s work to halt this war funding bill by calling our Representatives, and urging them not to vote for it until all the questions raised in these hearings have been answered. If you’re not sure who represents you, find out here.

George W. Bush’s Nightmare Before Christmas

July 282009

http://santabush.com

The Bush administration isn’t about to let democracy or the will of the people stop them from further ruining this country before they leave office. Knowing he can’t get his long list of favors to his Republican cronies through Congress, Bush is doing a last minute end-run, jamming as many rules through the executive branch as he can during his waning days in power. These so-called “midnight regulations” will allow factories to pollute more, further restrict women’s access to abortion services, cut off aid to needy families in the middle of a recession, and much more — all without Congress’ oversight or approval. It’s wrong, it’s antidemocratic, but, sadly, it’s legal.

When given the opportunity to be “naughty or nice” this holiday season, Bush has clearly opted to go down as one of the naughtiest, most sinister presidents in our nation’s history. We’ve created a satirical spin on the famous poem, ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas, in order to show President Bush crafting his last-minute agenda for health care, the environment, civil liberties, and labor practices — rules that will affect everyone and will be difficult for the next administration to overturn. We are using humor here in the hopes that it both commands people’s attention and enables us to shine a light on these all-too-serious midnight regulations.

After you’ve enjoyed this video, send it to friends and family. Let them know the harm President Bush’s midnight regulations will bring. And stress the fact that there are far too many congressional representatives who have remained silent while Bush pushes midnight regulations that will wreak havoc on the lives of their constituents and local communities. We must call the tacit approval of these representatives into question.

Keep in mind that it’s not just voters in blue states who will be affected — these midnight regulations will hurt people in the states and districts of Bush’s enablers in Congress. And remember that these last-minute policies are the outcome of Congressional Republicans’ loyal support for the Bush agenda over the past eight years. We should hold them accountable for the huge lump of coal Bush is handing over to the nation this Christmas.
