Why would anyone be shocked or even surprised that they had one? They’re the Bad Guys. Torture is what Evil People do.

Which is the problem Liberals have with waterboarding, secret detention, including that of several thousand US Citizens and scandals like what happened at Abu Gharib.

The Terror War is first and foremost a propaganda war. Acting like the Bad Guys makes it hard to get people to tell the difference. And that only serves to hurt the War Effort.

The problem with the Right Wing in this war, as it was in the Cold War–is that Conservatives ENVY the Bad Guys. They want to be just like them, and show it by doing the things they do. That hurts the War Effort by confusing the folks we need to convince that our way is the Right Way.

But that’s the Right for you. They never did like that whole Government by Law business. Wannabe Dictators and born Sociopaths, every one of them.
