Would U Vote For Someone Who Has A Voting Record Like This? I Sure Hope So!?

October 312009

He has never voted to raise taxes.
He has never voted for an unbalanced budget.
He has never voted for a federal restriction on gun ownership.
He has never voted to raise congressional pay.
He has never taken a government-paid junket.
He has never voted to increase the power of the executive branch.

He voted against the Patriot Act.
He voted against regulating the Internet.
He voted against the Iraq war.

He does not participate in the lucrative congressional pension program.
He returns a portion of his annual congressional office budget to the U.S. treasury every year.

Congressman Paul introduces numerous pieces of substantive legislation each year, probably more than any single member of Congress.

Beware of those who call him a traitor and isolationist, its all propaganda by corporate giants and the political elite to keep the system running "as is". If you are uppermiddleclass, middleclass, or poor, and want positive change vote Ron Paul in 2008. Dont be fooled!!
Who is he? Do you mean Don Paul? He is a closet liberal. Just vote for Hillary. Ron Paul is toast, He’s a tratior, his values and goals are against everything the Republican party stand for? What the FU*K? Are the people above who left these stupid remarks in their answers the real problem with our country? Thanks Twin MaMa and ThomasS, but Ryan said my question was one of the best he has seen so how could I not vote for him? This coming election will decide which way this nation will go, they say this every election but the "Time Is Coming"-Testament(great song)- where if we elect the same old same old, we will continue with larger government control, lower wages, higher taxes, higher crime, a continuing gap between the rich and poor, loss of most if not all civil liberties, an open border policy that will destroy our sovernty and American workforce, no chance in hell of the average person/family to live the American dream. Is this what you want? NO! Vote Ron Paul in 2008. Think-Vote!
If the same old same old gets in, this is what will happen. Nothing. Nothing will change except new laws that will further destroy our constitution and everything it stands for. We are at the halfway point of our country being completly sold out to the highest bidders, the top 1% and their foreign counterparts have a plan and your not in it! We are at the point if nothing is done now there will be no hope for it at a later time. Hillary, Obama, Mr. New Mexico? Please. Maybe Dennis. Romney, Rudy, Fred Thompson? Are you kidding me, a former lobbyist for the big corporations? Thompson is just a wolf in sheeps clothing, he is a complete fraud and his only purpose is to make money for himself and his partners, sound familar? We as Americans have been betrayed by the Bush administration and most of Congress, it’s time to fight back with the vote, violence is the last option and I hope it does not come to that but as for me I have had enough and will not tolerate anymore bullsh*t! I promise.

He’s a good person and even though I don’t agree with all his policies, I would vote for him before anyone else currently running. He’s not a closet liberal, he’s a libertarian that needed the backing of a strong party, hence the reason why he’s a registered republican.

Finally! Awesome question making some very good points! One of the very few I’ve seen on Yahoo Answers! Thank you very much!

Which constitutes "patriotism" better, 5 years as a prisoner of war, or honoring the Constitution in congress?

October 292009

In other words, does voting-record count more than service record?

What America needs is a real American in the White House.
On that basis, McCain qualifies the most, but neither major candidate truly represents what America is all about.
That is FREEDOM coupled with the ability to act RESPONSIBLY and taking responsibility for your own welfare.
Being a POW is an experience that may add to McCain’s ability to truly understand additional facets of the ramifications of going to war, but it can’t add much to his ability to lead America into a future of more individual freedom and responsibility.
Obama’s history has well prepared him for a position of leadership in the rush toward Marxism and tyranny.
Please keep in mind, since money is POWER, anyone who wants to raise your taxes wants YOUR power to use as he sees fit, not as you would want it used. He is a tyrant.

Why did the Republican congress vote to give oil companies huge tax subsisies when they are earning record?

October 272009

Oops, "subsidies"
To East coaster; you must have missed this at the end of the first link;
"Last Updated: July 29, 2005 00:03 EDT"

Better luck next time with your comprehension.
To Vinny; Once again you missed the point of the question. Good luck.

Because they care more about their buddies profits than the good of all Americans.

Edit: East Coaster, maybe you should check that first link again because it says 2005. Republicans passed it in 2005, and now oil companies are earning record profits.

Why is it out of all the senators in congress Barack Obama has missed the most votes and has the worst…???

October 252009

Voting record out of all the democrats or any other senator in congress. he has missed 174 votes and has the worst record with 38.3% of the current congress.

Why do you think he misses so many votes?

Opinions please.

http://projects.washingtonpost.com/congress/members/o000167/

I think he didn’t want to get called on his record. This was also a strategy that JFK used prior to the election of 1960. It’s been done before.

Can ou really imagine how much control congress would have with obama in office?

October 252009

no filabuster, 10% approval rating, Obama one of the farthest left candidates ever, who will go with anything they tell him obviously per his voting record… doesnt that scare anyone else?

Yes. Thank you George Bush.

Does anybody have the exact voting records of McCain and Obama, on the abortion issue?

October 232009

I want to know the SPECIFIC bills of legislation proposed in Congress (and who in particular presented them) — and how exactly these two major party presidential candidates voted. Does anybody have the entire history of McCain, in particular? Please don’t reply with a vague "he has voted pro-life 95% of the time": I would like more qualifications. Thanks in advance.

Did you know that Ron Paul is the most productive member of Congress?

October 212009

Congressman Ron Paul is the leading advocate for freedom in our nation’s capital. As a member of the U.S. House of Representatives, Dr. Paul tirelessly works for limited constitutional government, low taxes, free markets, and a return to sound monetary policies. He is known among his congressional colleagues and his constituents for his consistent voting record. Dr. Paul never votes for legislation unless the proposed measure is expressly authorized by the Constitution. In the words of former Treasury Secretary William Simon, Dr. Paul is the “one exception to the Gang of 535” on Capitol Hill.

Congressman Paul’s consistent voting record prompted one of his congressional colleagues to say, “Ron Paul personifies the Founding Fathers’ ideal of the citizen-statesman. He makes it clear that his principles will never be compromised, and they never are.” Another colleague observed, “There are few people in public life who, through thick and thin, rain or shine, stick to their principles. Ron Paul is one of those few.”
Brief Overview of Congressman Paul’s Record:

He has never voted to raise taxes.
He has never voted for an unbalanced budget.
He has never voted for a federal restriction on gun ownership.
He has never voted to raise congressional pay.
He has never taken a government-paid junket.
He has never voted to increase the power of the executive branch.

He never had a chance at all at wining, build a bridge and get over it.

Why Does Hillary Clinton Hate Barack Obama More Than She Hates Republicans?

October 172009

Obama never attacked her hard, all he did is critisize her voting record in congress.

I gather she see’s him as a threat. She’s been really going off the deep end lately.

Why is it last year Congress had an 18% approval rating, yet the incumbents were re-elected in record numbers?

October 132009

Are we hungry for failure? Also, those who were voted out were from the party that was NOT in control of congress. How does this make sense? Is our country bi-polar?

Inner city dwellers who have a predisposition for socialism turned out in droves to vote this last election. They were joined by every minority group who voted for Obama simply because he is not a Scots-Irish white. Also many independents voted for him, because they were afraid of McCain since the media made it sound like he had one foot in the grave and would leave Palin in charge.

The real funny is that liberal Democrats have been in control of congress since Nov 2006 running the country’s economy into the ground and convinced the average American that it was Bush’s fault. Now there is a liberal idiot in the White House helping them finish off whats left of the treasury.
