By "independent candidate", I mean someone who does not have the backing of a mainstream political party.

To run for Congress, can a candidate live in New York State Dist. 21 and run as a candidate to represent New York State district 25?
No, you don’t have to live in the specific district, you just have to live in the state in which you are running for.
I do not know yet who in our area will run for Congress, but I think Im not going to choose any candidate from that party whoever he is, considering their Pro-Conass stance and GMA’s decision to run in Congress…NO WAY!

Both the maturity of voter and the maturity of the CANDIDATE… is the candidate, once elected, mature enough vote for or against a bill of our of his own analysis, considering what will be good for the people, or will he vote ONLY for what his party dictates. I understand that a party and the president has it’s own policies and platforms of government, but on other issues, i wish they are mature enough to vote on their own. For me, that’s one point where these congressmen fail.

first off, it’s hold not whole. Second, the question is extremely speculative. I don’t understand why congress has these problems with people with different colored skin, and why that would all of a sudden lead to changing the constitution. The question may have some validity, but I don’t see where or how. I haven’t seen the massive racism you’re talking about in congress, though it’s apparent enough in the American population at large.
Because the large majority of the population is too stupid or lazy to educate themselves to realize this, and belive in the empty promises.
That’s how our politics have been working for quite a while.
Most people could care less about actually educating themselves.

No, but apparently voters in New York’s 23rd District are.

Ask Patrick Kennedy…(Democrat, RI) apparently people in Rhode Island have voted for him over and over again and he has an admitted problem with drugs which he has sought treatment for. As I went to college with Representative Kennedy, well I have this thing about voting for people who aren’t any better educated than I am.
On May 5, 2006, Kennedy admitted he has an addiction to prescription medication and announced he would be re-admitting himself to a drug rehabilitation facility at the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota where he has sought treatment for prior addictions.

I am sure that they and most of the rest of the world would carry on with their own lives. If I were stuck in the Library of Congress it would likely be my own friends and family that came looking not the four of them.
