Are you aware how hard it is going to be for Obama to keep his campaign promises w/ a Pelosi/Reid Congress?

December 142009

Obama is talking about a tax ‘cut’ for 95% of those who get a paycheck (even though 30% already don’t pay any taxes)…

How is he going to accomplish this? The ‘rich’ that Obama wants to go after aren’t going to be around forever if you tax them to death…and many ‘rich’ people are getting hammered just as bad as anybody else due to the financial crisis…..how is Obama going to provide healthcare for everybody, CUT taxes, and still balance the budget? All w/ a very liberal Congress that may be able filibuster proof and led by Pelosi and Reid? Is Obama going to veto the bills they send him?

Are Obama supporters aware of how difficult it is for Obama to keep his campaign promises?

I know.. it’s easier to promise things that are already enacted by the Bush admin.

In Congress who gets more campaign money Democrats or Republicans?

Owens indicated in a press release released shortly afterwards that he was now in favor of the the "Affordable Healthcare for America Act" bill in direct contrast to his earlier position during the election campaign.

According to Politico.com, Mr. Owens assured voters that he felt the public option had no place in the health care reform bill. Contrary to that position, Mr. Owens now indicates that he intends to vote in

What is the principal aging problem using the voter as the principal and the congress person as agents?

November 302009

What is the principal aging problem using the voter as the principal and the congress person as agents? Assume the goal of the voter is to get the congress person to keep their campaign promises. How can the voter attempt to solve this principal agent problem?

Fascinating query.

The voters are principals who vote politicians into Congress. The principal-agent problem comes up because politicians have little incentive to keep their campaign promises to voters once they’re elected into power.

One solution to this problem is to make politicians service shorter terms; that way, they’ll be on their toes because re-elections will come up sooner, making them want to keep campaign promises.

Another way to do this is for voters to form lobby groups to advance their causes. However, this can also work against the voters as a whole; individual lobby groups may have aims that are antithetical to the politician’s original campaign promises.

During his campaign Obama said he would give congress?

November 82009

five days to read each bill before he asked them to vote on it. He also said his administration would be "transparent"
Can I ask WHAT is transparent about gving members of congress an 1000+ page bill at 11pm at night, and then make them vote on it at 7am in the morning?
Also, is this the typical irrational behaivor that we will see out of Obama. AND….what about his campaign promise?
It really DOES show that he does not have any executive experience. He is acting like an inmature dicator wanna-be.
Did I miss something…who is Peyton?

Politicians say what ever it take to get in . then show their true colors shortly afterwards.

Will the Republican campaign of "last two years of Democratic Congress"?

October 292009

Be an effective play against the Democrats?

Will your average American accept that?

They could definitely try, but then again, the Democratic campaign would have a good rebuttal- the last eight years of George W. Bush as President. Since both are extremely unpopular right now, eight years of something really bad might trump two years of something really bad.
