United States Congress – District 3

By "independent candidate", I mean someone who does not have the backing of a mainstream political party.

Bernie Sanders has been serving in Congress as an independent candidate for 19 years.

   Actually, there have been dozens of Independents elected to Congress over the last two centuries.
